Ballade des Espiègles

In a context where fast fashion is the predominant means of getting clothes, with an average wear of seven to eight times per product, there is a clear need to reconnect with our clothes as something we cherish and won’t let go of. That means taking a strong stance against trends and low-quality products. By making garments directly dialog with emotions, there is a way to make us deeply care about what we wear.

Sometimes we remember events by browsing through our closet. Sometimes they are part of the event. But some specific clothes dear to us carry emotions through memories. Ballade des espiègles is about the little joys that we forget, experienced or not, but which carry an essence of light-hearted life and mischief, through illustration, graphic design, and textile. It aims at recollecting those memories on garments, creating connections: between garment and wearer, between wearer and other people, ultimately carrying more and more meaning over time.

If we can create such a connection with a garment, there are much more chances it will be worn for long, maybe even repaired when torn. Let’s create connections.
